Justin Paul Mitchell, 43 passed away peacefully Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his home in Carlsbad, NM. He was born the third child to James and Jacqueline Mitchell on December 14, 1981, in Pheonix, Arizona.
Justin had a zeal for life and helping others. He was driven to make a positive change for those forgotten by society. Giving of his time, mechanical talents, and his supportive nature made a difference in many people’s lives and brought him joy. His huge heart, strength, can-do attitude, and humor brought peace to those he served. His heart was fueled by helping others in any way he could. He would give you the shirt off his back and served as a safe place to land if you found yourself in need. Justin was resourceful and would help in any situation. From broken down vehicles, food, clothes, any home issues – he would run to the rescue, bring a bright light of joy to dire situations. The humor and smile he had brought light to our lives in a way you could only understand by being near him.
Justin loved his family. He loved his son deeply, cherished his mother, idolized his sister, found deep friendship with his cousins, and gave selflessly to his nieces and nephews. He loved any dog that walked into his life and found comfort in caring for them. He had many hobbies and enjoyed creating and fixing things. His life revolved around tinkering, tearing apart, repairing, and creating things, mostly for others. His life was not an easy path, but he fought for everything he had or did. He always made sure that the ones he loved were taken care of. He put the needs of his dog, family, and friends above his own. His family relied on him heavily and his precious nature will be missed.
Justin was received into heaven by his four loving grandparents, stepfather, Larry; his aunt Debra; cousin, Dallas; stepbrother, Stacy; and all the many dogs he cared for over the course of his life. He left behind his son, Tallon; father, James; mother, Jacqueline; brother, Mason; sister, Jennifer; stepsister, Brandi; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
