Juan Lozano Anaya

Juan Lozano Anaya, 78, passed away January 23, 2026 at Carlsbad Medical Center, Carlsbad, NM.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gabe Rubio officiating. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Juan was born October 12, 1947 to Jesus E. and Felicita (Lozano) Anaya in Carlsbad, NM. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. Juan married Maria Carmen Martinez August 23, 1974 here in Carlsbad, NM. He worked in the oilfield many years. In more recent years Juan worked for Devon Energy before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo and spending time with family and friends. Juan was a faithful member of Oasis Church where he volunteered in the food pantry, attended Torah and men’s Bible study.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maria del “Carmen” Anaya.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Fields and husband, Terry; son, Juan J. Anaya and Nakita Lewis; grandchildren, Luis Bustamante and Mayra Gomez, Jorge Anaya, Ci-ahra Anaya, Jessie Fields, Gregory Brown, Nathaniel Anaya, Ezekiel Anaya; brothers, Robert Anaya, Daniel Anaya and wife, Mara; sisters, Hortencia Anaya, Terry Olivo and husband, Ignacio and numerous nieces and nephews.
