Joseph Carl Basso, age 70, passed away on May 16, 2026 in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place. No services will be held.

Joseph was survived by his daughter Pamela Serna and her husband, Pedro Serna; his grandchildren, Randall and his wife, Charise, Hannah, and Christopher; and his great-grandchildren, Jamie, Bjorn, Tate, Amyah, Elli, and Ivy.

Joseph was known for his love of collecting many treasures throughout his life, especially penny banks, which brought him great joy. He enjoyed spending time exploring flea markets and garage sales, always searching for unique finds and hidden gems. He also loved playing dominoes, relaxing with a cigar, and sharing laughter and stories with family and friends.

Above all, Joseph will be remembered for his big heart, caring nature, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His presence brought comfort, warmth, and happiness to his family, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

He will forever be missed and lovingly remembered.
