John Roberson

John Allen Roberson, age 55, was called to the Lord on April 10, 2026 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

John was born June 6, 1970, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Carl Benge Roberson and Ruth Dick. John was raised in Nowata, Oklahoma until he moved to New Mexico where he lived in Aztec and Carlsbad where he graduated from Carlsbad Senior High School in 1988. He then moved to his final home in Artesia, NM.

John held several jobs throughout his life including being a nurse, on the road truck driver and finally being a pumper in oilfield. John also had numerous hobbies including hunting, fishing, and shooting guns.

John didn't know a stranger, he was big hearted and kind, he loved animals and his family more than anything. He was loved by all and will be missed so very much.

John was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmothers; father, Carl B Roberson; mother, Emma Roberson; and brother, Bobby Roberson

He is survived by his longtime companion, Shermana Stephenson; her daughter, Sunny; his sister, Carla Betancourt; his brother, Tim Roberson and wife, Robyn; multiple nieces and nephews: April Lane, Anthony Betancourt, Sarah Roberson, Timothy Roberson, Cody Roberson, Ashley Roberson; great nieces and nephews: Jaydin Colwell, Jaylyn Colwell, Jaclyn Betancourt, Jazlyn Betancourt, Joslyn Lane, Wrangler Betancourt, Samson Betancourt, Conner Betancourt, Janaiza Betancourt, Connor Roberson, Chloe Roberson, Shyanne Weldy, Brooklynn Weldy, Maddisynn Weldy, Allisynn Weldy, Liam Hernandez, Riley Roberson, Brynlee Basco, Cooper Roberson and Cole Roberson.
