Joe Ray

Joe Ray, age 67, of Hondo, TX passed away on August 23, 2023, in San Antonio, TX. Joe was born in Del Rio, TX on October 26, 1955 to Lester and Dorothy Ray.

Joe Graduated from the Carlsbad High School, in Carlsbad, NM and received an Associate Degree in Auto Mechanics from Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, NM. He spent many years working for Southwest Research Institute where he retired from in August of 2020.

He enjoyed reading, fishing, and liked playing the guitar. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Burl Dean Ray.

Joe is survived by his wife, Brenda of Hondo, TX; son, Travis Ray; daughters: Amanda Ray and Cynthia Arias; six grandchildren; and brother, Billy W. Ray.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad, NM. Condolences may be expressed online at dentonwood.com
