Jimmy W. Keen

Jimmy W. Keen, 90, of Leavel Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 22, 2024 at his home. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Jimmy was born January 4, 1934 in Carlsbad, NM to Rex and Anna (Dillahunty) Keen. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1952. Jimmy married Melva Sherrod August 27, 1955 here in Carlsbad. He worked for PCA and later Mississippi Chemical Co. before retiring in 1992. Jimmy enjoyed building miniature windmills and spending time with his family. He was baptized June 15, 1968 and remained a faithful servant as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout his life. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Keen, and sister, Sherry Lynn Hall.

Survivors are his wife, Melva Keen; daughter, Debra Keen; sons: Jimmy Keen and wife, Rebecca, Greg Keen and wife, Michelle; grandchildren: Jennifer Soltero and husband, Roque, Hannah Pitts and husband, Cameron, Wade Keen, Devean Keen, and Oliver Keen; brothers: Gary Bales and Ronny Bales; sister, Barbara McDonald, and several nieces and nephews.
