Jessica O. Olivas, 41, of Hueco Street Carlsbad, NM passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 PM to 6:30 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the vigil starting at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2021, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jessica was born August 10, 1979 in Carlsbad, NM. She lived her life as an adventure! Jessica was full of love and laughter, and always made new friends everywhere she went. She had a huge heart and had a passion for caring for other people. She worked for many years in home health care, and for the last few years with Caring Angels. She was loved by many, who will dearly miss her and never forget her.
Jessica was preceded in death by her son, Justyn Angel Olivas; maternal grandfather, Ignacio Olivas; paternal grandparents, Nerio Ramos Olivas and Cruz Sotelo Olivas; uncles: Matthew Olivo, Rudy Olivo, and Hector Olivas; aunts, Juana Olivas and Leonor Fuentez; and cousin, Ryan Olivo.
Jessica is survived by her daughter, Justyne Mariah Olivas of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Otilia Gonzalez of Carlsbad, NM; father, Juan Sotelo Olivas and wife, Lupe of Carlsbad, NM; maternal grandmother, Paula Olivo of Carlsbad, NM; siblings: Amy Yslas, Crystal Olivas, Juan Olivas, Jr. and fiancé, Sarah Rodriguez, Joline Olivas, Joey Olivas, Jesse Sanchez and wife, Rebecca, Victoria Franco and husband, Andy, Angelica Walterscheid and husband, Jared, Patricia Hartert and husband, Alex, all of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
