Jeanette Littrell, 75, of N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 26, 2010 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 29, 2010, 3:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Hodnett and Pastor Pete Kuhn officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM . Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jeanette Littrell was born June 21, 1934 in Abilene, Texas to Garvin Brady and Mary Opal (Jameson) Bird. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1952. Jeanette married Keith Littrell on September 19, 1953 here in Carlsbad. They began their family and Jeanette was committed to running the home and raising their children. She was awarded "Homemaker of the Year" in 1990 by the Eddy County Extention. Jeanette was a member of the Garden Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing, crocheting and cooking and will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Keith Littrell of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Carolyn Littrell of Carlsbad, NM; son, Kenneth R. Littrell and wife, Teresa of Parker, CO; three grandchildren: Melissa Kelley, Zachary Littrell and Mackenzie Littrell; twin sister, Joann Adams of El Paso, TX; sister, Joyce Staples and husband, Charles of Ben Brook, TX and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dwain Adams, Dan Staples, Zachary Littrell, Kelly McKean, Mike Smith and Richard West. Memorial contributions may be made to Garden Street Baptist Church, 1215 W. Ural Drive, Carlsbad, NM 88220. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
