James W. Tomblin, Jr.

James W. Tomblin, Jr., 52, of Carlsbad, NM passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 in Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.

James was born June 10, 1973, in Carlsbad, NM. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1992. James married Elizabeth Marie Paskey August 21, 1994 here in Carlsbad. He drove a truck for a number of years. James worked as a dispatcher for the past 20 years and most recently for Kat Energy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking on the grill but most of all spending time with his family. James was preceded in death by his father, James W. Tomblin, Sr.; sister-in-law, Jessica Johnson, and his grandparents.

Survivors are his wife, Liz Tomblin; sons: James Henry Tomblin and Cody Lane Tomblin; mother, Fonda Lou Johnson and husband, Larry; stepmother, Lorraine Kay Tomblin; siblings: Jennifer Fletcher and husband, Eric, Larry Wayne Johnson, Shelli Lou Armstrong and husband, Kelly, Jessica Lynn Ewing and husband, Douglas, Jacob Lee Tomblin; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Doug Ewing, Jody Ellsworth, Duane Geckler, Daniel Campbell, Cody Tomblin, Jake Tomblin, Steven Duane Boyd, Kelly Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne Johnson and James Henry Tomblin.
