James "Sonny" S. Sides

Rev. James S. Sides, Sr. (Sonny), 53, of West Stevens Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away May 18, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, May 21, 2010, 2:00 PM, at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 1309 West Tansill Street, with Rev. Michael E. Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Rev. James S. Sides, Sr. (Sonny) was born February 26, 1957 in Levelland, Texas to McDonald and Margie (Sharp) Sides. He dedicated his life to God and to his family. If anybody needed anything, he was there. He was preceded in death by his step-dad, Doland Gaskill; grandparents; niece, Misty Worden; three uncles and one aunt. He is survived by three sons: James "Sid" Sides, Jr. and wife, Shelah, Michael R. Sides, Matthew Sides all of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Sarah Sides of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; grandson, James Edward Sides of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Margie Gaskill of Carlsbad, NM; father, McDonald Sides of Roswell, NM; six siblings: Belinda Jackson and husband, Robert of Denver City, TX, Debra Fleet of Carlsbad, NM, Jackie King and husband, Lester of Junction, TX, Bill Sides and wife, Regina of Albuquerque, NM, Alva Aguilar and husband, Larry of Carlsbad, NM, Connie Dodson and husband, Frank of Carlsbad, NM, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
