James Galindo Moreno, 40, of Hueco Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away January 24, 2023 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Denton Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Denton Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor R.L. Smith, officiating. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.

James was born July 4, 1982 in Carlsbad, NM and attended Carlsbad Municipal Schools.  He worked 17 years in the oil field as a mud logger, currently working for Titan Mud Logging Services.  James was the life of the party, always making people laugh.  He loved listening to music and helping anyone he could.  James enjoyed wrestling with James, Jr. and watching YouTube videos.  He was actively working on straightening out his life, planning the future with Patricia and James.  James’ laughter and practical jokes will be missed by all and a part of James will live on through his choice to be an organ donor.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Moreno; grandparents: Ben and Eva Moreno and Alfredo Ortega.

Survivors are his son, James Moreno, Jr.; girlfriend, Patricia Ortega; brother, Mark Moreno and wife, Kimberly; nephew, Delmonico Moreno; niece, Kaliyah Moreno; best friend he considered a brother, Rashod Amos and wife, Clarissa; aunt, Terry Calanche; uncles: Gilbert and Robert Moreno and several cousins. Pallbearers will be R.J. Amos, Nathan Gonzalez, Tommy Martinez, Jeremiah Lopez, Raymond Calanche, Jr., and Frankie Pompa. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Moreno and Rashod Amos.
