James "Jim" A. Bryant

Obituary James Jim A. Bryant, 85, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, December 8, 2020 at home with his family by his side. A private ceremony will take place Saturday, Dec 12, 2020. Jim was born in Artesia, NM to Leon Bryant and Geneva Gilliland Bryant on August 20, 1935, graduated from Vaugh High School in 1954. He married Shirley Kenyon, the love of his life, on October 4, 1956, and celebrated 64 beautiful years together. Jim did two tours in the US Army serving in Colorado, Germany, and Louisiana. Jim worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and BNSF as a conductor for 41 years. He loved country dancing, hunting and fishing, sporting events and was a life-long member of The Fraternal Order of the Elks. He is survived by his wife Shirley Bryant of the home, with 3 children: Daryl (Karen) Bryant, Laura (Todd) Williams, Andy (Vicki) Bryant; 5 grandchildren: James (Katie) Rayroux, Shelli Rayroux, Jessica (Bill) Haser, Jennifer Bryant Galindo, Tiffany (Nico) Dominguez, Heather (Logan) Knapp, Kurt Bryant; 12 Great-grandchildren: Daryl Nieto, Justin Hall, Breeanna Nieto, Zachary Galindo, Kynzie Dominguez, Emily Galindo, Keegan Bianchi, Nicolas Dominguez, Kristina Haser, Jaxson Duarte, Kaleigh Dominguez, Kynleigh Dominguez; 2 sisters Earlene (Jim) Ellett, Charlene Bynum; and 1 sister in-law: Linda Bynum plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, loving in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leon Bryant, Earl and Geneva Bynum; 2 brothers: Bobby Bryant, and Hollis Bynum; 1 niece Kami Lea May.
