Jaime S. Olivas, 58, was born in Ojinaga, Mexico to Pablo Olivas, Sr., and Elva S. Olivas on August 15, 1967. Jaime passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel followed by a rosary at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, June 26, 2026 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jaime came to the U.S. at a young age. He attended Carlsbad Schools. He went to work in Texas when he was 17 years old. Jaime met the love of his life of 42 years, Sandra Diaz in Lubbock, Texas. He was a loving father and grandfather. Jaime did everything he could for his family. He enjoyed music and spending time with his grandkids. He was the life of the party. Jaime was a very adventurous person and loved to cruise all the backroads. His favorite saying was, “common sense.”

Jaime was preceded in death by his son, Mark Anthony Olivas; father, Pablo R. Olivas, Sr., and grandmother, Eloisa Sotelo.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Diaz; daughters: Angela Olivas and Yvette Olivas; son, Jaime Olivas, Jr.; grandchildren: Aubrie Navarro, Aiyana Navarro, Crusito Olivas, Giovonni Olivas, Natalee Perez, Camila Olivas; great-granddaughter, Thalira Olivas; brothers: Arturo Olivas, Sr. and wife, Linda, Jose Olivas and wife, Tomy, Domingo Olivas, Sr., and wife, Rosemary, Pablo Olivas, Jr., and wife, Victoria; sisters: Tencha Castillo and husband, Albert, Simona Quezada and husband, Manuel Quezada, Sr., Maria Madrid; godson, Victor Madrid and goddaughter, Joslyn Torres.

Pallbearers will be Arturo Olivas, Sr., Jose Olivas, Domingo Olivas, Pablo Olivas, Jr., Jacinto Arredondo, Mike Molina, David Lujan, and Manuel Quezada, Sr. Honorary pallbearers are Jaime Olivas, Jr. and grandkids.
