Jackie Quackenbush

Jackie Quackenbush, 76, of London Road, Loving, NM, passed away January 6, 2022 at Carlsbad Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Loving Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jackie was born July 31, 1945 in Alton, Illinois to Bruce and Margaret (Hood) Quackenbush. She graduated from John Dickinson High School. After graduation, she served her country in the U.S. Army and did a tour in Vietnam. After the Army, Jackie returned to Delaware and worked at Van Sice Motorcycle Shop as mechanic for about ten years. She then joined Peace Corps for 2 years in Yemen. Jackie enjoyed it so much that she spent the next 20 years working for voluntary agencies in Yemen, Somali, Pakistan, Saudi and Egypt. Jackie spent 5 years in Cairo working with the American Embassy as Motor Pool Officer. She retired to New Mexico for the past 20 years and loved the desert.
Jackie is survived by her close friends: Richard and Joanna May, Christopher Urban and Coley and Tamsen Burgess.
