Iris Hartsock

Iris Hartsock, 61, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in Lubbock, TX.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2023, at New Song Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor John W. Burke officiating. The service will be live stream on the New Song Christian Fellowship Facebook page.

Iris was born to Monte C and Donna L (Word) Storme on November 23, 1961, in Fresno, California in the back of a Taxi cab, what an entrance! She was the beloved, middle child and was adored by most. In April of 1976, Iris had a beautiful baby girl, Monica Lynn Storme. We all claimed her. Another milestone came on September 27,
1983. Iris married Donald Hartsock. Don and Iris claimed each other as the love of their lives and they meant it. Jonathan (Paul) Hartsock was born on August 19, 1985.
Iris accepted Jesus in her early 20's. They developed an amazing relationship. She knew what He had delivered her from and she learned more and more of His attributes. As the years flew by, Iris earned her Masters of Nursing in Education via New Mexico State University Carlsbad, now known as Southeast New Mexico College, where she was happily employed for 20 years. This allowed Iris to serve the Lord and to teach. Our family, neighbors, students, church members and even strangers have been blessed to know the Hartsocks.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hartsock; father and mother, Monte and Donna Storme of Carlsbad, NM. Also, her brother, Ira Storme, also of Carlsbad.
Iris is survived by her daughter, Monica Storme Potter and husband Sabin of Midland, TX. Jonathan Paul Hartsock, of Carlsbad, NM. A daughter, Alleigha Hartsock of Midland, TX; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Potter, Tanner Potter and his wife Sherada, and Corey Potter and his wife Kimberly. There are also three great-grandchildren: Kayden, Collen and Lylah Potter.
