HR Wall

Herschel Ray “HR” Wall passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Carlsbad, NM.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be scheduled for a later date at Sante Fe National Cemetery.

HR was born in Amarillo, TX to Lonnie Hill Wall and Mertie Mae Chambers Wall. The family moved to Clovis, NM and HR graduated from Clovis High School. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. The family moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1955 where HR worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 42 years.

HR and Jeneva moved back to Clovis in 1983. They loved square dancing; they taught square dancing and round dancing. HR was also a square dance caller. He loved fishing and line dancing, Pepsi, orange pineapple ice cream, snickers and paydays.

Herschel was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeneva; two brothers: Charlie Wall, Gene Wall; sister, Lillian Brownlow.

HR is survived by two children: Dean Wall and wife, Missy of Carlsbad, NM; Ginger Wall of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchildren: Tami DeArmond and husband Phil, Jeffrey Wall and wife, Raylene, Jeremy Dodd and wife, Catrina, Tonya Schluchter and wife, Kurt; seven great-grandchildren: Naomi Wall, Zechariah Wall and wife, Nichole, Nathaniel Wall, Evan Dodd, Aleena Dodd, Jevana Schluchter, Rhett Schluchter; brother, Lester Wall and wife, Blanche of Newport, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
