Howard Holcomb, 74 of Carlsbad, NM, joined the eternal ever after on February 24, 2021. He was the third son to parents Marvin and Leota Holcomb. He is survived by his wife, LaVaughn; son, Scott and wife Robbie, of Missouri; and daughter, Heather of Florida. He was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Trinity, Cameron, and Linnley. LaVaughn brought Shane and Vance, wife Billie McDonald into Howard’s life. Howard has three step-grandchildren, Savanah, Autumn, and Faith. He has one surviving sibling, Anita Cantrell of Montana. Preceded in death by siblings, Marvin, Jim, and Lance.

Howard worked in the potash industry in Carlsbad for more than 20 years. He worked for PCA, Mississippi, and retired from Intrepid in 2015. Prior to his work in Carlsbad, he was in the Air Force and achieved the rank of E-3 prior to an honorable discharge in 1965.

Howard was a much-loved man. He had a special sense of humor and air of quiet easiness around him. He was respected by his fellow coworkers. Howard will be missed by many and will never be forgotten. He rests in a beautiful place.

Cremation has taken place, and there is no visitation. Final resting place will be at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad, NM at a later date.
