Henry McDonald

Henry McDonald, 69, of E. London Road, Loving, NM, passed away April 17, 2025 at Three Crosses Regional Hospital, Las Cruces, NM. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Oasis Church with Pastor Gabe Rubio officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Henry was born March 16, 1956 in Loving, NM, to Harold and Beth (Gaylon) McDonald. He started farming with his father on the family farm full time at the age of 13. This was the basis of a life of hard work and entrepreneurship. Henry started a trucking business early on, driving many, many miles over the years. Throughout his career, he was involved in the oil and gas industry as well as ranching, but his constant passion was farming. Henry was a selfless and generous person, helping any and everyone. He had a heart of gold. Henry was a wonderful husband and father, and the best “Papa.” He will be deeply missed.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Beth McDonald; brothers: Larry, Raymond, and David McDonald.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy McDonald; daughters: Ely Ortega and husband, Leo, Ivonne Wilson and husband, Russell, and Laura Aranda and husband, Edward; Rhonda Yeager, David Smedley, Phyllis Smedley, and their children and grandchildren; grandchildren: Armani Montes, Sebastian Ortega, Yazmin Ortega, Ryan Wilson, Liam Aranda, Penelope Aranda, Emma Wilson, and Matthew Wilson; brother, Glenn McDonald and wife, Barbara; sister, Brenda Patton and husband, Rob, sisters-in-law, Linda, Margaret and Vicki McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Vance McDonald, Jason Patton, Dean Baker, Sebastian Ortega, Leo Ortega, Edward Aranda, Russell Wilson, and Matt Weiskopf. Honorary pallbearers are Armani Montes and Cas Tabor.
