Hayden grew up in Loving and went to school there through the 9th grade. He went to NMMI through 10th and 11th grade, and graduated from the Carlsbad High School in 1967. He went to NMSU in Las Cruces studying business. Hayden would go back and forth from school to working the farm in Loving. While attending school, he acquired his certification for teaching, welding and a bachelor’s in business. While working at the farm, Hayden spent one year teaching, got into real estate, and then into selling insurance. He always wanted to explore new adventures in life. He had a love for learning and always strived to better himself in all he did.
Hayden married the love of his life Debbie Briggs, on June 5, 1970, and they started their family having two children and seven grandchildren together. Hayden was a family man through and through, and he would do anything for them. One of his favorite family traditions was Sunday dinners, which started over 60 years ago. Each Sunday, the family always got together and had a time of fellowship over sharing a meal together. After retiring, he took up his hobby of woodworking, and started making amazing pieces of furniture for his family. Everything always came out perfect from his meticulous and perfectionist personality as well as his artistic flare.
Hayden was known to have a bigger than life personality, his bright smile and infectious laughter would fill the room. He had a generous heart, and would always go out of his way to bless others around him. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He loved to read and had a wealth of knowledge in almost all subjects. He was also known by many to have a little of the “Kimbley” stubborn streak. Hayden enjoyed collecting guns, knives, going hunting, target shooting, reading, and learning about history. He also enjoyed going to the senior center and playing pool with his friends, as well as playing his diverse music for everyone to groove to. He leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Hayden was preceded in death by his father, TJ Kimbley; mother, Doris (Ogden) Kimbley.
Hayden is survived by his wife, Debbie Kimbley of Loving, NM; two children: Parker Kimbley and wife, Natalie of Carlsbad, NM; and Gentry Hughes and husband, Trent of Queen, NM; seven grandchildren: Jaden Bratcher, Tayden Kimbley, Isabella Kimbley, Olivia Kimbley, Kyla Hughes, Brayden Hughes, and Rylon Hughes; brother, Reed Kimbley and wife, Patricia of Loving, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
