Harvey graduated from Artesia High School in 1988 and was proud to be a part of the 1987 State Football Championship Team. He was very proud to be an Artesia Bulldog. Harvey served the Eddy County Community for 16 years in Law Enforcement. He was an Eddy County Sherriff, an Artesia Police Officer, and then The Chief of Police in Loving, NM.
He married the love of his life Janice (Hernandez) Rodriguez, not once, but twice on July 19, 2003 and July 2013. That just proved the amount of Love they had for each other. Harvey enjoyed watching his kids play sports and was always their Biggest Fan. He hardly ever missed a game.
Harvey loved his Bulldogs and was the Biggest Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved to host get togethers for every game. He enjoyed cooking and would always invite everyone over and wouldn’t let you leave without your belly being full. He was very proud of his Asado and would remind us all that he won a contest for it. There wasn’t a meal that he made that wasn’t delicious. Harvey also enjoyed playing LOUD music and was the only one allowed to DJ in his Man Cave. He loved to dance and wouldn’t get off the dance floor until Janice would get tired. He took pride in having the best yard and garden in Loving; his grass was always the greenest. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Loving.
Harvey is reunited in Heaven with his father Pedro Rodriguez and his sister Rosalinda Rodriguez.
