Obituary Harold A. Hal Waters, 92, passed away December 2, 2020 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Private services will be held at Denton Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephanie Harmon officiating. Hal was born May 19, 1928 in Denver, Colorado to Arthur and Viola (Johnson) Waters. He graduated veterinary college from Colorado State University in 1952. Hal married Margaret Zylstra in 1952 in Yakima, Washington. He served his country as Captain in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the U.S., Saudi Arabia and Germany. Hal worked civilian service with USDA in Oregon, New York, Missouri and Washington, D.C. He retired in 1982 as chief staff veterinarian. In retirement, Hal became the president of Animal Health International and traveled extensively consulting on animal health. He and Margaret lived full-time in a motor home volunteering in 13 national parks including Carlsbad Caverns, as interpretive ranger. They moved to Landsun Homes in 2004. He volunteered at Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Hal was a Chautauqua performer as John Chisum in New Mexico which he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his wife, Margaret Waters; sons: Paul Waters and wife, Janie, David Waters and wife, Connie; daughter, Mary Waters; grandchildren: Brian Waters and wife, Aubrey, Jeremiah Waters and wife, Heather, Lisa Waters; great-grandchildren: Brady Waters, McKenzie Waters, Elijah Waters, Bennett Waters, Adalyn Waters; brother, Wayne Waters and wife, Margaret.
