Guadalupe "Junny" Corona

Guadalupe "Junny" Corona passed away to be with the Lord on April 18,2022 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home followed by a rosary prayer vigil will be at 7:00 PM.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 22, 2022, at San Jose Catholic Church. Father Juan Carlos Ramirez will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at the new section of the Carlsbad Cemetery.
Junny was born on September ­­19,1955 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Guadalupe "Lupe" Corona, Sr. and Dominga Corona.  He was a retired Carlsbad firefighter/EMT. Junny loved going to the gym to work out, sometimes even twice a day. He loved to go for rides on his Harley. Junny had a love for sports and shared that love by coaching all of kids’ sports teams. He always had music playing in the background at cookouts while he made his famous ­­­June burgers. Junny was also known for his storytelling heart. His love for God was like no other. He will be missed by family and friends. Junny married the love of his life Patricia "Trish" Corona on ­­December 17,1997.
Junny was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia "Trish" Corona, and sister Enedina "Annie" Garcia. He is survived by his sons: Anthony Corona and wife, Tanya, of Las Cruces NM, Zachariah Corona of Carlsbad NM; his daughters: Aimee Corona and husband, Ruben, Ashley Corona and wife, Annette, and Zulema Corona and husband, Felix, Lindzey Corona all of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Lupe had 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: brothers, Armando Corona and wife, Sylvia, Robert Corona and wife, Liliana, Michael Corona and wife, Elaine, and his sisters: Emma Ramirez and husband, Ruben and Priscilla and Pete Marquez, and his “dialysis buddy” Fermin Gutierrez.
Pallbearers will be Xavier Montes, Brandon Corona, Devin Corona, Eric Ramirez, Mando Corona, Orlando Corona.
