Greg Klug, 73, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Las Cruces, NM. Greg was born on December 12, 1949, in Sulphur, OK to John and Freda Klug.
Visitation is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Carlsbad Cemetery with Fr. Hruday Kumar Pasala officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
After Greg was born in Sulphur, OK his family moved to Lamesa, TX, where he served as an altar boy at his local church and played in the high school band. After graduating high school, he met and married the love of his life Carolyn on March 12, 1969, in Lamesa, TX, and together they raised a beautiful family. He worked in the oilfield and moved to Carlsbad in 1973. He was proud of his career, which spanned more than four decades. Where he met and made many friends. He was an avid inventor, always tinkering and improving gadgets he thought would be useful. His family was his crowning achievement, he was very proud of his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, John E. Klug; mother, Freda A. (Wolf) Klug; wife, Carolyn Klug; two grandsons: Kyle Klug and Kevin Klug; and four siblings: Mike Klug, Sharron Waldie, William Klug, and Darlene Klug.
Greg is survived by his two sons: Gary Klug and wife, Misty of Carlsbad, NM; and James Klug and wife, Tausha of Carlsbad, NM; eight grandchildren: Kasey Klug, Sandra Fry, Bobbie Bailey (Nicolas), Max Kennedy, Lanai Klug, Jonathan Klug, Trinity Griffith, and Shyann Wright; twenty-three great grandchildren; two siblings: Mary Jean Pulsipher of Utah; and Larry Klug of Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
