Glenda Mae Wilferth

Glenda Mae Wilferth, aged 80, departed this world to be with the Lord on June 29th, 2025. Born on July 5th, 1944, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Glenda lived a life full of love, family, and cherished memories.

Glenda was the beloved daughter of Jack and Etta Reese. She grew up surrounded by her siblings, Dwayne, Carrell, Wanda, and Delores Reese, all of whom she now joins in eternal rest. She was also preceded in death by her soulmate, Paul Wilferth, her high school sweetheart and lifelong companion.

Glenda leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her daughter Deborah and son-in-law Mike Self of Kerrville Tx, along with their daughters, Tarah Dominguez of Carlsbad NM and Cheyanne Rainwater, and husband Trevor of Kerrville TX; her son Paul and daughter-in-law Denise, and their son Garrett Wilferth of San Angelo Tx; her son Carrell and daughter-in-law Lucretia Wilferth of Fredericksburg TX, with their children Loren Hunter and husband Adam of Georgetown TX, Harley Wilferth of San Antonio TX, Caitlan Smith and husband Jacob, Cody Berry, and wife Kelby of Fredericksburg TX. Glenda was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Pyper, Devin, Taytum, Caleb, Berkleigh, Raylan, and Oliver. Her sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Danny Gold of Kerrville, Texas, also survive her.

Glenda met Paul Wilferth in high school, where they shared many joyful moments, including double dates and cruising the local drag. They married in 1961, just before Paul joined the U.S. Army, and Glenda steadfastly accompanied him throughout his service, including a move to North Carolina. Her unwavering support and love were the foundation of their relationship.

Glenda cherished her family deeply, and her happiest times were spent in their company. She fondly remembered fishing trips, camping, and joyful gatherings at the Rock House. As a devoted supporter, she was ever-present at her children's ballgames, cheering them on with boundless enthusiasm.

Together, Glenda and Paul pursued entrepreneurial ventures, owning multiple restaurants over the years. In 1993, they relocated to the Texas Hill Country, where they fell in love with Fredericksburg, Texas. There, they owned and operated Hill Pride Ice Company for 13 successful years.

Glenda was a vibrant soul whose smile was contagious. Her sass and stubbornness were legendary, traits that only deepened her family’s affection for her. They lovingly called her their “Fredericksburg Peach.”

She expressed her creativity through ceramics, crafting delightful pieces with love. Her grandchildren were often serenaded by her silly songs, and her joyful humming filled the kitchen as she prepared delicious meals. Her great-grandchildren carried forward her legacy of laughter, often rehearsing funny sayings like, “I'm so mad I wanna spit.” These quirky phrases brought smiles and echoes of Glenda’s own humor, reminding everyone of the joy she spread.

Glenda Mae Wilferth's proudest moments were those spent with her loved ones, whose lives she illuminated with her warmth and spirit. Though her absence is deeply felt, there is solace in knowing she is reunited with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and loving husband Paul.

A celebration of Glenda's life will be held on August 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sunset Church of Christ Fellowship Room in Carlsbad, New Mexico. memorial. Her legacy of love and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
