Gisela Landreth, 88, of Solana Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Goodlife Assisted Living, Carlsbad, NM. Cremation will take place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Word of Life Church.
Gisela was born October 8, 1936, in Heidelberg, Germany to Martin and Maria (Baumann) Beilharz. She met Sam Landreth while he was stationed in Germany. Gisela was 19 years old when they met and they married August 3, 1960, in Sandhausen, Germany. After Sam was released from active duty, they moved to Carlsbad in 1975. She was known in town as the red-headed German lady. Gisela was always dressed up and never left the house without lipstick and heels. She was a wonderful cook and took meticulous care of her home. Gisela was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Landreth, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her son, Anthony Landreth and wife, Crystal; daughter, Patricia Anaya and husband, Tito; grandchildren: Whitney Warminski and husband, Patrick, Cassie Duncan and husband, Tyson, Madison Coleman and husband, Devin, Chelsea Davis and husband, Clayton, Broc Landreth, and Mario Munoz; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Annemarie Grun, and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of The GoodLife who made their mom feel so loved and kept her comfortable: Gina, Stephanie, Bailey, Michelle, Denise, Desiree, Rosa, Cristal, Annette, Jamie, Melissa, Yesenia and Vanessa. They would also like to thank the staff at J&J, Lakeview Christian Home Hospice and especially her two special nurses, Tish and Karla.
