Geneva A. Rodriguez

Geneva Anaya Rodriguez, age 82, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. She was born on November 13, 1943, in Loving, New Mexico, to Manuel Anaya and Antonia Carnero Anaya.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2026 at River of Life Church with Pastor Ramon Flores officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements

Geneva was a loving, strong, and devoted woman whose heart was as gentle as it was fierce. She was a joyful person—a bright light whose laughter filled any room and lifted the spirits of everyone around her. Known for her giving and forgiving nature, she carried herself with quiet strength and a heart of a lion. Her faith guided her life, and she found great joy in sharing the word of our Lord and Savior, speaking often of His good works and living her life as an example of love, grace, and resilience.

She loved spending time going out to lunch with family and friends, enjoying music, and attending church. Above all, Geneva cherished her family and the moments spent together, always placing others before herself.

Geneva was most proud of her children, her family, her unwavering faith, and the resilience she carried through every season of her life.

She is survived by her children: Susan McGuire and husband Stacy; Barbara Back and husband David; Janine Callison, Gina Smith; Maribel Harrelson; Julio Rodriguez; Frank Rodriguez; Elbert Rodriguez; Edward Rodriguez; and Eulalio Rodriguez; along with many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Anaya and Antonia Carnero Anaya, and her sisters: Inez Navarrette, Manuela Franco, Lorenza Duran, and Juanita Carnero.

Geneva’s legacy of faith, love, joy, and devotion to family will live on, in all who were blessed to know her.
