Freddie was born April 21, 1928 in Carlsbad, NM to Fred and Effie (Lewis) Cox. She grew up and attended school at El Paso Gap. She married James Ray Evrage January 1, 1977 at First Baptist Church in Cloudcroft, NM. At the time, Freddie was the manager of David James Ladies Clothing Store in Artesia. It wasnt long after, James Ray convinced Freddie to work with him at The Main Place and Mr. E which he already owned. In 1987 they purchased a ranch in Pinon, NM and in 1991, they decided it was time to move to the ranch after liquidating the stores and selling their house in Artesia. In 2000, they purchased the Dinner Hill at Crow Flats, NM, where Freddies mother grew up. They owned and operated the Crow Flat Ranch, later selling it in 2015 and returning to the ranch at Pinon. Her hobbies included horseback riding, quilting, designing outfits and most of all caring for her grandchildren. Freddie was the best help mate God ever gave anyone. James Ray and Freddie worked in the clothing store side by side, went home together side by side and were side by side at the ranch until Freddie had to go to the Goodlife in July of 2019. The family would like to especially thank all of the staff at Goodlife for the excellent care they gave Freddie.
