Obituary Fred "Lico" Rodriquez, 77, of South Guadalupe Street Carlsbad, NewMexico passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Covenant MedicalCenter.Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2019, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM October 14, 2019, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Liturgy of the Word service will take place at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Melvin Balderrama officiating. Interment will take place at a later time at Santa Catarina Cemetery Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of making arrangements. Fred was born on November 2, 1941, in Fort Davis, Texas to Manuel and Fe Rodriquez. Fred worked hard his whole life to provide for his family. He dedicated 39 years to the Carlsbad Municipal School District. He was a compassionate and loving man, who would go out of his way to help others. He had a great sense of humor, and was great father figure to his grandchildren. Above all, Fred was a devout Catholic and held strong to his faith. He will be deeply missed, and never forgotten. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Rodriquez; and mother,Fe Sillas Rodriquez. Fred is survived by his wife, Regina Rodriquez of Carlsbad, NM; daughter Annette Carrasco of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Kris Ann Smith and husband, Rusty of Midland, TX; daughter Yvonne Rodriquez of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren: Cody Carrasco, Jared Carrasco, Brad Smith, Kendra Smith, Andrew Chavez, Caitlin Chavez, and Elena Chavez; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Tila Balderrama of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Ernesto Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Robert Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; sister Anna Uranga of Arizona; sister Patsy Fierro of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Birdie Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. Condolences may be left online at dentonwood.com.
