Frank Fuentes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and son, peacefully passed away at the age of 65 on June 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. In 1967, Frank's journey led him to Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he would establish his home and create a lifetime of memories. Throughout his life, he took on various occupations with a strong work ethic from a young age.
In his younger days, Frank discovered his passion for boxing, becoming a skilled fighter in the lightweight division. His remarkable talent led him to achieve a notable feat: winning the prestigious Golden Gloves championship.
Frank was married at a young age to Sandy Carrasco and had four children: Nancy Fuentes Hobby & husband Curtis, Lisa Fuentes Lamaster & Husband Scott, Frances Fuentes Torres & husband Roger, and Frank Fuentes Jr, & wife Katy: Honorary son Daniel Flores & wife Denise. Frank was a man of unique character. Described as hardworking and a jack of all trades, he had a knack for starting projects but perhaps enjoyed leaving a few unfinished to keep the world guessing. His stubbornness, sarcasm, and unwavering suspicion of everything and everyone around him added color to his interactions. Quick to question motives and trusting only a select few, he lived life with an intriguing air of mystery.
Frank's love for vintage cars was legendary, and he spent countless hours restoring and reviving old classics. One car, affectionately named "Miss Kitty," became his pride and joy. Frank entered numerous competitions with Miss Kitty by his side, emerging victorious time and again. Cruising through the streets on Sundays, basking in the nostalgic tunes of oldies music, brought him immeasurable joy.
His love extended beyond his craft and hobbies. Frank was blessed with several grandchildren Jordan Hobby-Fuentes; Nehemiah Hobby & partner Esmeralda; Melanie Fuentes & partner Scotty Lamaster; Christian Brown & wife Ale Larrios-Barajas; Kaleb Brown & wife Elayna; Anna Bridenbaugh & partner Addison Sanders; Trinity, Briley, Max & Ava Lamaster; Xiaja Huff; Andrew Fuentes; Jake Fuentes; Bella Fuentes and great-grandchildren Eli Lamaster, Allison Hobby-Fuentes, Audrey Brown, Giovanni Hobby, whom he adored with all his heart.
