Franceal Lucia

Franceal Lucia, 68 of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Franceal was born on November 24, 1953, in Portales, New Mexico to Arther and Birdie Meece.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, June 13, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service is scheduled at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM with Pastor David Rogers officiating.

Franceal enjoyed beading, sewing, and observing gems and minerals. She skillfully and caringly made quilts for disabled veterans. And Franceal also loved going to the senior center and served on their board.

Franceal was preceded in death by her father, Arther Meece; mother, Birdie (Collins) Moore; three children: Rebecca Srader, Anthony Srader, and Benjamin Srader; and three siblings: Albert Meece, James Meece, and Ruby Grant.

Franceal is survived by her husband James Lucia of Carlsbad, NM; four children: Melissa Tillman, Samantha Ogden and husband Jody, Cindy Franco, and Katherine Thomas; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
