Felix Methola rode through life like only a true cowboy could—gritty, loyal, and unforgettable. Born into a large, lively farm family with 11 siblings, Felix learned early the value of hard work, loyalty, and taking care of your own. He took special care of his beloved mother and never strayed far from his roots. A proud veteran, Felix served his country with honor before returning home to dedicate himself to his community. He worked for the city until his well-earned retirement, bringing the same sense of responsibility and grit to his job that he carried throughout his life.

Felix had a language all his own one that made you laugh and let you know exactly where you stood. He was a man of simple pleasures shade, a cold beer in hand, and his boots planted firmly on the ground. His heart, though, was anything but simple. When his beloved wife Angie fell ill, he gifted her $50,000 with one instruction: live your best life, travel, and enjoy every moment while you can. She was his world, and he made sure she knew it.

Family meant everything to Felix. He had several grandchildren, but none quite like Rudy, his pride and joy, his shadow, the one you’d always find close by. He also shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who were often sent down to Wayne’s store on the corner to buy his cigarettes. “Put it on my tab,” they’d say—and that tab was always open, not just for smokes, but for their favorite gummy worms, chips, and candy bars. Felix never complained. He always paid the bill. That’s just who he was. Felix Methola was a rare kind of man. Tough and tender, rugged and generous, wild and deeply loving. He leaves behind stories that will be told with laughter, memories that will be cherished with tears, and a family that will miss him more than words can say.

We’ll keep a cold beer waiting in the shade for you, Felix. Rest easy, cowboy. Thank you for your service—to your country, your city, and the people you loved so fiercely.
