Felipe "Phillip" Orozco was born to Frank Orozco and Victoria Macias on May 1, 1980, in Carlsbad, NM and was raised in Carlsbad. As a child, he was handed paper and pen by his grandma Chencha which was the discovery of his natural born talent, drawing. Throughout his school years, he won multiple contests for his artwork. Whether it was freeze framing, a VHS to perfect a character, or filling up his draw pads, it was a passion for Phillip. In high school he was able to excel and expand his talents by designing the prom theme, making the props for school plays, writing a screen play, and designing cover art for the school yearbook. Shortly after high-school, he ventured off to Santa Cruz to pursue his dreams. From there he made his way to New York, Albuquerque, and shortly after took a job back in New York where he resided for the next 11 years. It was there he truly found a way to leave an impression through his talents. From working as a freelance illustrator, accounting admin for production company, to making his break creating popular toon art portraits. He definitely left his artistic mark on New York and made many friendships along the way. When he wasn't creating art, Phillip enjoyed watching his favorite movies, gardening, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. Aside from his career, he was best known for his unique humor, infectious laugh, chiseled jawline, and that perfectly styled hair. Conversations with Phillip were never dull and he impacted those around him more then he even knew. Phillip's life taught us all that chasing down your dreams is possible and living life to it's fullest is essential. “Thank you for being a son. A brother. An uncle. A partner. Thank you, Phillip, for being a friend.”
Phillip was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents, Reyes and Crescencia "Chencha" Dorado; Paternal grandparents, Florencio "Pinky" and Erminia Orozco.
Phillip is survived by his: mother, Victoria Macias (Richard); father, Frank Orozco (Emma); sisters, Anissa & Krista Orozco; brother, Frankie Orozco; nieces, Jacinda Cabezuela, Zurie Orozco, Niyah Chavez, & Amirrah Sutton; nephews, Reyes Orozco & James Sutton Jr; great nieces, Bethany Richards & Braelyn Cabezuela; great nephew, Brodey Richards; beloved dearest friends, Roger Yeh, Jaclyn Avitia, Allan Ibarra De Perea, Noel Zarate, Kathleen Boyer, & Genevieve Kendrick.
