Evarista "Eva" Balderrama

Evarista “Eva” Balderrama, 85, of Jason Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 2, 2024 at Carlsbad Medical Center.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, January 8, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, January 9, 2024 followed by Liturgy Outside the Mass at 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.  Following the cemetery, there will be a potluck meal held back at San Jose Parish Hall. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva Balderrama was born October 26, 1938 in Carlsbad, NM to Pablo and Anselma (Hernandez) Arredondo.  She married Gonzalo Balderrama, Sr.  Eva was a wonderful cook and hard worker.  Through the years, she was employed at La Caverna, Pete’s Deluxe, Stevens and the school system to name a few.  Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gonzalo Balderrama, Sr.; grandson, Jacob Balderrama; sisters: Juana, Julia, Martina, Connie Arredondo, and brother, Paul.

Survivors are her children: Gonzalo Balderrama, Jr. and wife, Gloria, Toni Sillas, Richard Balderrama and wife, Carrie, Mondo Balderrama, Roy Balderrama and Rogelio Balderrama; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Frank Arredondo and Robert Arredondo; sisters: Yolanda Olivas and husband, Frank, brother, Albert Gomez and wife, Carol, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rogelio Balderrama, Amos Balderrama, Jeremiah Balderrama, Rocky Balderrama, John John Methola and Michael Balderrama.  Honorary pallbearers will be Little Rocky Balderrama, Jimmy Balderrama and Riker Balderrama.
