Ernesto H. Sosa

Ernesto H. Sosa, 73, of W. Greene Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away May 4, 2021 at Kindred Hospital, El Paso, Texas.

Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.
Ernesto was born May 6, 1947 in Carlsbad, NM to Manuel and Tomasa (Hernandez) Sosa. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a faithful volunteer in the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard and the American Legion, Post #7. Ernesto married Criselda Gonzalez in 1966. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 38 years of service. Ernesto enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and visiting the casinos. Most importantly, he loved spending quality time with his family and loved ones, especially his great-grandkids. Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents; son, Arthur Sosa; brothers: Gilbert and Johnny Sosa; sisters: Margarita Valenzuela, Petra Tovar, Josie Martinez and Olivia Jaquez.
Survivors are his wife, Criselda Sosa; sons: Danny Sosa and wife, Mary Ann, Ernest Sosa, Jr. and Anthony Sosa and wife, Cynthia; granddaughters: Amanda, April, Vanessa, Amber and Monica; grandson: Ernest III, Anthony, Jr. and Jonthaniel; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: David, Ruben and Joe Sosa; sisters: Vera Salisberry, Sally Martinez, Delia Doporto, Velma Lopez and Yolanda DeLeon and numerous nieces and nephews.
