Eric Olivas

Eric Olivas, 33, of W. Walterscheid Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away January 16, 2022 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, January 21, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josiah Ochoa officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Eric was born April 26, 1988 in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2007. When he wasn’t spending time drawing and painting, Eric could be found playing the guitar and drums, which he truly enjoyed. He was very outgoing, smart and funny, and never met a stranger. Eric could talk to anyone, anywhere and make them laugh. His children were the light of his life. Eric was preceded in death by his grandmother, Refugia Martinez.
Survivors are his wife, Veronica Olivas; sons: Gavino Olivas and Draven Olivas; daughter, Olivia Olivas; mother, Liza Sanchez and father, Andres Gonzalez.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Sanchez, Joey Olivas, Thomas Rodriguez, Jose Aguirre, Leo Aguirre and Tobyn McNew. Honorary pallbearer is Andres Gonzalez.
