On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Ella Marie Talbot, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 90.

Ella Marie was born on December 8, 1930 near Axtell, Kansas to Herman and Elsie (Sandberg) Olson. She graduated from Central Business College in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked for the Skelly Oil Company on the Plaza in Kansas City. She later returned to Axtell, Kansas where she worked for the Rural Electrification Administration. She married Henry Sedlacek, Jr. on August 30, 1953, and they had three daughters: Wanda, Karen, and Susan. Ella Marie and Henry farmed in the Marysville, Kansas area until Henry’s death in 1963. She and her three daughters then moved in to Marysville, and after her mother’s death in 1966, she cared for her father in her home. She married Merton Talbot on April 12, 1968, and helped him run his radio and television dealership.

Ella Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elsie, her first husband, Henry Jr., and second husband, Merton, and siblings Rose, Vernie, Leo, Wilma, Glen, and Mildred. She is survived by her brother, David, of Walnut Creek, CA; her daughters: Wanda Sedlacek, of Plano, TX, Karen (Joe) Bramlage, of Topeka, KS, and Susan (Alan) Duell, of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren: Robyn (Brian) Yates, Bryan (Katie) Duell, Richard Faulkner, Elisa Duell, and Billy Faulkner; and four great-granddaughters, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at the Marysville Cemetery at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Marshall County Food Pantry.
