Obituary

Elizabeth Betty Ehman, 88, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 21, 2020 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Services will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church at a later date.

Betty was born September 26, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, to William H. and Mary A. (MacDonald) Fraser. She graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1950. Betty proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy as a store keeper where she met her husband, Edward. She married Edward Ehman September 2, 1956 in Boston, MA. Betty and Ed raised their five children in Oakdale, CT until retirement brought them to Carlsbad, NM. They retired to Carlsbad in 1992. Betty enjoyed crafting and crocheting, making many baby blankets for friends and family. She had a love for animals and asked about each of our pets whenever we talked. She had a good sense of humor although she usually messed up when telling a joke! Betty always asked, "What are you gonna do?" And by that, she taught us that we always had a choice...even if she didn't agree with our decisions, she was always supportive. Betty lived a long, happy life and was ready to spend eternity with her husband. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Betty was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Oakdale, CT and St. Edward Catholic Church in Carlsbad, NM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Santa Fe Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Ehman, Sr.; son, Edward Ehman, Jr.; daughter, Lexina Bailey; brother, William Fraser; sons-in-law: Kenyon Ryder and Patrick Hilt.
