Elizabeth "Betty" Ruiz Armendarez

Obituary Elizabeth "Betty" Ruiz Armendarez, 56, of North Guadalupe Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on December 21, 2019, at University Medical Center Lubbock, Texas. Betty was born on November 23, 1963, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. A vigil will follow at 7:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2020, at San Jose Catholic Church. Liturgy of the Word service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2020, at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Tony Dominguez officiating, cremation is to follow. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of making arrangements. Betty graduated from Carlsbad High School in the class of 1998. She then went on to work as a certified nursing assistant at Lakeview Christian Home, until she became sick and retired early. Betty's work was evident of her big heart and kindness for others. She was always there for people in their most difficult times. Betty was always involved with San Jose Catholic Church, and had been a part of the Legion of Mary and Virgin Fatima. Betty especial loved spending time with her grandchildren, kids, and husband Daniel of sixteen years. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Betty was preceded in death by her grandmother, Erminia P. Castillo; grandfather, Theodore Castillo; brother, Martin Trujillo; and brother, Antonio Trujillo. Betty is survived by her husband, Daniel Armendarez of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Victoria Bustos and Valentin Bustos of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Monica Ruiz and Manuel Muniz of Carlsbad, NM; eight grandchildren: Angelica, Valentin, Evianna, Mauricio, Milagro, Marcela, Mia, and Marcelina; parents, Pablo and Mary Trujillo of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Florencio Ruiz and Wanda Saiz of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Cecilia Ruiz and Ruben Juarez of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Pedro Trujillo and Dawn Trujillo of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Johnny Trujillo and Mari Trujillo of Roswell, NM; sister, Santos Gonzalez and Joe Gonzalez of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Joey Martinez of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
