Edward Anaya Jr., 47 of Albuquerque NM, passed away on October 1, 2023 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Edward is going to be deeply missed. He was a great son, brother, husband, uncle and friend. He was deeply loved and meant so much to everyone who knew him. We loved the sunshine in his smile and his laughter is carried in all of our hearts forever. Edward's hobbies in life were hunting, fishing, golfing and watching Notre Dame win.
Edward was born on February 26, 1976 in Carlsbad, NM to Edward Sr. and Rosa Anaya. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Antonia Anaya, Manuela Lujan, late grandfather, Manuel Anaya, aunt, Estela Lujan Delgado, and father-in-law, Jack Babel.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Anaya of Albuquerque, NM, his parents Edward and Rosa Anaya of Carlsbad, NM, grandfather, Gregorio Lujan, Sisters: Juanita Morton and husband James, of Maricopa, AZ, Lilliana Anaya and Fabian Campos of Carlsbad, NM, Yvonne Sartin and husband Chad of Odessa, TX, and Yvette Rodriguez and husband Frank, of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, at 5:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel followed by a vigil at 6 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, October 6, 10:00 AM at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery in Loving, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Welch, Adrian Lujan, Salvador Jr. Anaya, Manuel Anaya Jr., James Morton, Fabian Campos, Frank Rodriguez and Chad Sartin.
