Doris Slusher

Doris Slusher, 86, of North Third Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away January 13, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center. She will be cremated at her request and burial will take place in Alamogordo at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Doris Slusher was born January 26, 1923 in Alvoid, TX to Oscar Charles and Barbara Vianna (Welhelm) Axley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Slusher; daughter, Bobbi Wilson; son, Leslie Martin and brother, James Axley. Survivors are three daughters: Barbara Bowering and husband, Norman of Carlsbad, NM, Jerri Barnard and husband, Roland of Portales, NM, Linda Montgomery of Tularosa, NM; two sons: Roy Martin and wife, Darlene of Jal, NM, Randall Martin and wife, Teresa of Tularosa, NM; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
