Dorinda “Dori” Gutierrez, age 68, of Loving, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, after a courageous battle with cancer. In her final days, she was surrounded by love and spent precious time with her beloved son, Jonathan Uvalle, and her cherished grandpup, Ender.

Dori was born on July 8, 1957, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Moises Gutierrez and Lilia Quintela Gutierrez. She was a strong woman whose faith ran deep and whose life touched countless people. Through every season of life, she met challenges with quiet courage, lifted others with her words, and led by example. Whether through her family, her work, her community, or a simple conversation, Dori's presence brought comfort, hope, and strength to those around her.

Throughout her career, Dori was known for her dedication, professionalism, and compassionate spirit. Beginning as a supervisor at the Odessa, Texas Motor Bank, she went on to serve as a Human Resources Benefits Coordinator for Bodycote in Dallas, Texas, and later worked in the oil and gas industry as an Office Manager. She deeply respected the officers she worked alongside and took great pride in supporting their mission through her meticulous work and unwavering commitment. Her calm demeanor and compassionate nature often brought reassurance during challenging times.

Dori's Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted prayer warrior whose intercessory prayers blessed many who crossed her path. She found inspiration and guidance in God's Word and in Christian literature. One of her greatest joys was writing down meaningful prayers and favorite Bible verses, creating a collection that reflected both her faith and her love for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moises and Lilia Gutierrez, and her grandparents, Esteven and Guadalupe Quintela.

Dori is survived by her loving son, Jonathan Uvalle; her brothers Alejandro Gutierrez (Sylvia), Henry Gutierrez (Viola), Daniel Gutierrez (Cindy), and Harvey Gutierrez; her sisters Erlinda Gutierrez (Paul) and Priscilla Hinojos; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
