Dolores Briseno

Dolores Briseno, 78, of S. Alameda, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away April 26, 2012 at Lakeview Christian Home. Visitation will be 1:00-5:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2012 A vigil is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, 2012, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, May 4, 2012, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Dolores G. Briseno was born on February 14, 1934 in Marathon, Texas and moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico at age 5. She attended school at San Jose and was a Carlsbad High graduate. Dolores worked in the cafeteria at St. Francis Hospital and later at Guadalupe Medical Center where she retired after many years of service. She worked at the Carlsbad Friary over 50 years where she was dedicated to serving our local priests. She was also a Member of Catholic Daughters and a regular server during Mass at San Jose Catholic Church. Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Briseno. Survivors are her sister, Baudelia Larez of Pacifica, California; nephew, Javier Larez of Pacifica, California; great nephews and nieces, Cecilia Larez, Javier Larez, Jr., Nicole Garrego, Danielle Garrego, Valentino Borrego and Matthew Larez; 3 great great nephews; aunt, Simona Payanes of Carlsbad, New Mexico; cousins, Carmen Castaneda of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Albina Sanchez of Carlsbad, New Mexico and numerous other cousins. Palbearers will be Frank Payanes, Michael Payanes, Robby Sanchez, Javier Larez, Ezequiel Santiago and Zeke Navarrette.
