Deloris Frie, 77, of Artesia, NM, passed away peacefully the morning of June 28, 2022 at her home. She was enjoying the beautiful morning in her happy place, drinking coffee and jamming to George Jones on her back porch. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Mort Bates and Pastor Dale Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Deloris was born August 22, 1944 in Deming, NM to Claude and Evelyn (Hodge) England. She married Alan Frie August 31, 1969 in Deming, NM. Deloris lived the ranch and cowboy life with Alan and will be remembered for the wonderful meals she prepared for the cowboys during their works, her hard work, and wonderful stories. She was known for her spunky attitude and no-nonsense disposition, and you knew she loved you if she was constantly picking and teasing. Deloris was a meticulous housekeeper and wonderful caregiver to many. You didn’t leave her home without being offered some kind of delicious food or dessert, or a glass of tea. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alan Frie; sons: Carl Lee Tulk, Alan Lane Frie; grandson, Weston Bricker; sisters: Barbara Means, Francis Lee and brother, Clyde England.
Survivors are her daughter, JoAnn Yandell; grandson, William Bricker and wife, Timsan; great-grandson, Austin Bricker and great-granddaughter on the way, Laney Bricker; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be William Bricker, Morgan Brown, Rusty Henard, Doyce Magby, Mark Wilkie and Raymond Clark.
