Debra “Debbie” League

Debra “Debbie” League, 66, of Carlsbad NM, passed away October 6, 2021 in Las Cruces New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Calvary Assembly of God. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Debbie was born on June 27, 1955 in Carlsbad NM to J.D. and Connie (Arreguy) League. Debbie graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1972. Debbie married Danny Huber on June 11, 1977 and together they raised three children; David, Amber, and Danielle. Danny and Debbie remained friends for many years.

Debbie worked for many local businesses where she was known for her outgoing personality and compassion. She was a travel agent with World Wide Travel, caregiver with CARC Inc., substitute teacher with Carlsbad Schools and most recently a hostess/manager at Stevens Inn. Debbie made many life-long friendships in her work life.

Debbie greatest love in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and had many birthday and swim parties in her backyard on Maple St. Debbie also enjoyed hanging out with her dearest friends and loved to dance. She was a mother figure to many, whether it was at work or a friend of her kids that showed up at her house. Debbie was the biggest supporter of her grandsons and the sports they played.
Debbie was dearly loved by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karla Weise; brother, John Martin Weise; granddaughter; Chellsey Riley and nephew Jonathan Trey Weise.

Survivors include her son, David Riley and companion Melissa Yates of High Rolls NM; daughter, Amber Huber and companion, Kris Carlson of Carlsbad NM; daughter, Danielle Huber of Carlsbad NM; grandchildren: Taylin Riley of Tucson AZ; Markeese Stearns, Paxton Huber, and Makayla Saiz, all of Carlsbad NM.
