Obituary David George, 75, of North James Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, in Lubbock, Texas. David was born on November 7, 1945, in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Donvell and Mada George. Cremation has taken place, and there are no services scheduled at this time. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. David grew up in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High school in 1964. Later, he met and married the love of his life, Lois Morelli on April 12, 1973 in Carlsbad, NM. David had a long career working in the potash mines, starting with Kerr McGee and then finally retiring from Intrepid Potash. David was a family man most and foremost. He loved spending time with them, and would do anything for them. He was also an avid outdoorsman, always going fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed working with wood and reading new books all the time. David will be dearly missed and never forgotten. David was preceded in death by his father, Donvell George; mother, Mada George; son, Gregory George; and brother, Bill George. David is survived by his loving wife, Lois George of Carlsbad, NM; son, Daniel George and wife, Jen of Bloomfield, NM; daughter, Amanda Bustamante and husband, Carlos of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Teri Acosta and partner, Corri of Las Cruces, NM; son, John Paul George of Carlsbad; seven grandchildren: Angelique Ferguson, Theresa Ferguson, Kim Ferguson, Vernon Ferguson, Christian George and wife Jessi, Isaiah Bustamante, and Carleigh Bustamante; brother, Carl George and wife, Vira of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
