David Buendia

David Lee Buendia, 63, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 15, 2026.

David was born on October 12, 1963, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Adolfo Ramirez Buendia and Maria Angelica Buendia. Throughout his life, David worked in various fields, spending his later years working in construction. His life was filled with simple pleasures and the things he enjoyed most.

David was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite team. He also had a love for reading books, listening to rock music, and enjoying some Bud Light. David truly enjoyed being around people and never seemed to run out of things to talk about. He never met a conversation he couldn’t keep going. Whether sharing stories, exchanging opinions, or simply enjoying someone’s company, David loved connecting with others. A conversation with David was rarely a short one, and that was just part of what made him unforgettable.

David was preceded in death by his loving parents, Adolfo Ramirez Buendia and Maria Angelica Buendia.

David is survived by his 12 siblings: Joe-Adolfo Buendia, Mike Buendia, Angie Henry, Raul Buendia, Jorge Buendia, Carol Adame, Suzanna Squires, Margie Gonzales, Amelia Quesada, Marcela Wallace, Carlos Buendia, and Hilaria Buendia.

He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

As family and friends gather to remember David, may they find comfort in the memories they shared, the conversations they enjoyed, and the moments that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

David’s life will be remembered, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Friends are invited to join the family for a meal at the American Legion.
