David B. Brannan

David B. Brannan, 81, of Carlsbad, went to his heavenly home on May 25, 2024.  He was born to Ralph and Clara Brannan on January 6, 1943.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Clay Carlson officiating.  Cremation will take place following the service.

David married the love of his life, Hazel Elliott, on October 31, 1964 and loved her profoundly.   He is survived by his wife and three children: daughter, Debbie Cross (Austin), son, Bruce Brannan (Bobbi), and daughter, Denise Boal (Ben). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Billy Caudill (Kourtney), Cody Spencer, Justin Brannan (Appy), Sarah Powell, Clara Spencer, and Katie Brannan, as well as eight great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are two brothers, Larry Brannan and Carl Brannan (Nita), and one sister, Joyce Berryman.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph K. Brannan, and sister, Carole Richards, plus grandson Ashton Brannan and great-grandson, Jasper Powell.

David worked at several potash mines and retired from WIPP in 2009.  David loved hunting and fishing along with water sports. He was very inventive and could fix almost anything.

David was saved and gave his heart to Jesus six years ago.  He taught Sunday school and helped with junior church at Faith Baptist Church.   His family and all those who loved him will miss him deeply.
