Consuelo (Chelo) Molina Aguilera

Obituary Born to Matias and Angelita Molina, Chelos journey began September 9, 1925 in Marfa, Texas. Chelo was called home to rest in Heaven on April 6, 2020, at her home in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Growing up Chelo loved dressing up and dancing. She also loved Mariachi music and dancing to Glenn Miller. One of her favorite stories and proudest moments of her childhood was when she received her First Holy Communion. She was so proud and joyful that she wanted to walk home so everyone could see her in her First Holy Communion dress. Chelo was one of the first Mexican-American women to graduate from high school in Fort Stockton, Texas; another proud moment in her life. She enjoyed her time in El Paso, Texas, where she worked at Lerners Department store in downtown El Paso. She later worked as a teletype operator at the Army base in El Paso. In July 1948, Chelo married the love of her life, Monico Aguilera, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in El Paso Texas. Chelo was a devoted wife and a mother of seven beautiful children. In addition, she was an amazing grandmother to 27 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Chelo adored her grandchildren and considered them to be the loves of her life. Chelo enjoyed family gatherings, flowers and gardening. Her loving and vibrant spirit left an imprint everywhere she went. Chelo was kind and welcoming to every person she encountered and will always be remembered for her contagious smile, her love, and her joyful spirit. A graveside service will take place in Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
