Cheryl Ann Todd

Cheryl Ann Todd, lovingly known as “Chery,” passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on August 13, 1943, in Pecos, Texas, to John William Boles and Mary Agnes (Hudgens) Boles. She was married to Glenn Todd December 18, 1971 in Carlsbad, NM.

Chery was preceded in death by her siblings, William “Bill” Boles, James Leslie Boles, Norman Boles, and Marilea Parsons, as well as many other beloved family members.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Glenn Todd; her stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Mark Washburn; and her grandchildren, Justin and Kaitlyn Washburn. She is also survived by her many cherished nieces and nephews, including Celeste Boles, Randell and Mary Kay Boles, William “Bill” Parsons, Marilyn Johnson, Kendra and Kevin Willmon, Ryan Wilcox, Stephanie Boles, Melinda Sanders, Samuel Wilcox, and James Boles. She leaves behind special numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family, as well as her lifelong best friend, Sandy Bogan.

Chery lived a vibrant and adventurous life. As the wife of an enlisted serviceman, she lived abroad in Germany and Hawaii before settling back in New Mexico. She earned her associate degree in secretarial studies in Lubbock, TX and spent many years working at NMSU–Carlsbad, where she took pride in helping support the growth of small businesses in the community. She also worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, and Candlewood shop downtown.

She was a woman of many talents and passions. Chery enjoyed crossword puzzles, Bunco, crocheting, golf, tennis, bowling, dominoes, and just about any card game. She was a line dancer and a member of the Red Hats Society. She even took up belly dancing, always willing to try something new and fun. She loved spending time at the Carlsbad Senior Citizens Center, where she built friendships and shared her joy for life. An avid reader and cook, Chery found beauty in both quiet pastimes and lively gatherings.

Faith was an important part of her life. She attended both First Assembly of God and Dayspring churches in Carlsbad, where she worshiped and built lasting connections.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Carlsbad Cemetery, 1506 Boyd Drive, Carlsbad, NM 88220.

Chery will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her devotion to family and friends, her faith, and the joy she brought to every room she entered.
