Charles McGinnis

Obituary Charles McGinnis, 83, of Harmon Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away November 30, 2019 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Davis and Jeff Morriss officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Charles was born October 5, 1936 in Dallas County, MO to William C. and Daisy Irene (Malicoat) McGinnis and moved to Carlsbad with his family, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1954. He married Margaret Glover July 19, 1954 in Hobbs, NM. Charles joined the Carpenters Union in 1955. He worked as a carpenter here in Carlsbad until 1967 when they moved to Washington State. After retiring in 1998, Charles and Margaret returned to Carlsbad. He enjoyed remodeling homes and classic cars. Charles was a member of the Carpenters Union, CARS, Cameos Northwest and B.P.O. Elks, Lodge 1558. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Bob and Bill McGinnis and sister, Barbara Runkle. Survivors are his wife, Margaret McGinnis of Carlsbad, NM; children: Dean McGinnis, Ann Pirkle, Rock McGinnis; 9 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rock McGinnis, Dean McGinnis, Tim Groves, Rock Atwood, Arron McGinnis and Terry McArthur.
